Alpha release imminent, and new site (again)

I am getting ready to release the first FOMS 2 alpha.
This update is a huge step forward for Fallout 3 mod sorting, and even though it is not yet feature complete, it offers incredibly more functionality than FOMS 0.6 could ever provide.
Included with the first alpha release:

  • New enhanced UI looks great, and is theme-able
  • Mods window provides live conflict, dependency, and message tracking, using colored gradient backgrounds as visual indicators.
  • Double-clicking a mod brings up its details, including matching conflicts, missing dependencies, and relevant messages.
  • Backup/restore works similar to previous versions, but the next Alpha release will include the first version of the Backup Manager.
  • The included Template Manager allows intuitive and simple creation, duplication, and modification of templates. No XML skills required!

The new Alpha will include a mildly-updated template (though nowhere near as complete as the template that will be included with the Beta). Many template issues have been fixed, and some new options have been added to the schema.
The beta will also include other features, such as Mod Preferences, a redesigned Template Studio, the Backup Manager, automatic conflict/dependency recommendations and resolutions, and much more!
In addition to the new FOMS release, the web site has been completely restarted from scratch to resolve some long-standing issues. Sorry if you had an account that got lost, and thanks for checking out FOMS; it’s a great time in the program’s history!Tags: , , ,
